I am sleepy.

"You need a room with no view so imagination can meet memory in the dark." ~Annie Dillard

It's Wednesday and a lazy day at work (for me anyway). I feel somewhat as though I've been moving through the days like mist... separate but a part of the whole. Work has been crazy. Family is normal. Pets have had medical drama. Cute guy is ...growing cuter by the day.

I think September is going well. There's a wedding this weekend and a sports day. Busy, busy, busy and the mother says I should keep some days free. Hmm.

Inspiration and fabulousity for you and me:
peace,
Ren

Inspiration...

"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead." ~Louisa May Alcott

August already and that means that seven months have already gone by.

Whoa.

I'm not writing as much as I thought I would.

I'm thinking of writing a book.

I'm thinking of travelling (near and far).

I'm procrastinating in the name of taking things moment by moment.

*sigh*

Some inspiration/good reads/meditations for the week/month/rest of year:

Inspiration... motivation... philosophy?

No quote today because I'm sharing another of my favourite poems... something that I think of when I have work days like the ones I've had this week. I'm a bit down... a bit achy... a bit tired. This gives me back some of my strength:

"If "

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master,
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)

Interesting reads & vids...

"Life is a conspiracy to shower you with a nonstop feast of interesting experiences, all of which are designed to help you grow your intelligence, shed your pretensions, and master the art of ingenious love." ~ Rob Brezsny

I confess that I spend a lot of time online... a good bit of it is due to my job but apart from that I truly enjoy being able to access information and learn about situations/ideas. I thought that today would be a good day to share some of the wealth I've found.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend :) Be open to whatever experiences/ideas that may come your way.

peace,
Ren
